Title of Post: Night Nurse- Full Time Permanent - Addiction Services
Location:Dublin City Centre
Reporting:Clinical Nurse Manager
Overview of the Company :
The charity works with individuals at risk of, or experiencing homelessness, in Dublin, Kildare, Laois and Limerick. The Trust provides a wide range of services in the areas of homelessness prevention, Family Services , housing, homeless services, under 18s residential and drug treatment.
The service provides supports through intensive case management with multi-disciplinary specialism to provide supports to tenants in their own homes. Intensive case management includes an assigned case manager to support tenants in move-in and daily living and community integration, with supports ranging from intensive (daily) to moderate (1 per week). The multi-disciplinary team consists of addiction specialists, mental health supports, psychotherapy and nursing supports.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1.To the Clinical Nurse Manager:
To work for the Trust within the authority delegated to him/her by the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Meet with the Clinical Nurse Manager at regular intervals regarding the progress of his/her work.
To assist the Clinical Nurse Manager in the day to day running of the project.
2.Nursing Responsibilities:
To lead on the dispensing, storage and recording of medication in line with best practice.
Uphold all agreed quality standards and participate in the evaluation and audit of services in order to improve quality, standards of care and ensure clinical effectiveness.
To be cognisant of and comply with the An Board Altranais code of professional conduct.
Deliver nursing care to participants over the night shift.
Provide the health education/health promotion service to clients.
In conjunction with the duty team, deliver nursing care to clients in line with policies, procedures and systems ensuring they meet the requirements of the key service objectives.
Ensure Nursing registration requirements are maintained.
3.Other Duties:
Any other duties as designated by the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Any other duties which may arise in line with catering for the needs of our clients
Person Specification:
Qualifications and Experience:
Nursing Qualification BSc in Psychiatric or General Nursing, registered with An Bord Altranais
Essential competencies: communication skills, commitment to providing the highest level of service, professionalism and maintaining professional boundaries, respect for others, promoting choice independence, health and well-being and resilience & positive outlook (All other competencies to be reviewed as part of the supervision and support process)
Desirable: At least 1 years nursing experience post registration and a positive, calm and client centered approach to their work.
Desirable: Experience of working with clients detoxing from methadone in a residential setting. A keen interest in the area of addiction and an overall awareness/understanding of the social implications of drug misuse
