What is a Support Worker?
Support Work is a type of Social Care, and the role is varied as every person has different needs. Essentially, a Support Worker is there to help look after the well-being of people in their daily lives, including those living with different physical disabilities or mental health needs, and the elderly who may need help to take care of themselves. Support Workers work in many different settings, including intellectual disability services, supported living services, child and elderly care as well as out in the community and in people’s homes.

To work as a Support Worker you need:
- A minimum of Level 5 or 6 in Healthcare or Childcare / Level 7 or 8 in Psychology or Social Care.
